Spectral Analysis of Relativistic Bunched Beams

چکیده
Particles in a storage ring are oscillating in the longitudinal and transverse dimensions, and therefore, the frequency domain is natural for analyzing many beam generated signals. Information ranging from oscillation frequencies to beam phase space distributions can be extracted from the spectral content of these signals. It is often necessary to switch between time and frequency domains using Fourier transforms. If f(t) is a function of time, F(co) given by

Green ' s Function Analysis of Bunched Charged Particle
In this thesis, we analyze the dynamics and equilibrium of bunched charged particle beams in the presence of perfectly conducting walls using a Green's function technique. Exact self-consistent electric and magnetic fields are obtained for charged particles in the vicinity of a conducting boundary with the use of Green's functions. We present three analytical models of bunched beams in a cylind...
متن کاملEquilibrium and Confinement of Bunched Annular Beams
The azimuthally invariant cold-fluid equilibrium is obtained for a periodic, strongly bunched charged annular beam with an arbitrary radial density profile inside of a perfectly conducting cylinder and an externally applied uniform magnetic field. The selfelectric and self-magnetic fields, which are utilized in the equilibrium solution, are computed self-consistently using an electrostatic Gree...
متن کاملhp-Spectral Finite Element Analysis of Shear Deformable Beams and Plates
There are different finite element models in place for predicting the bending behavior of shear deformable beams and plates. Mostly, the literature abounds with traditional equi-spaced Langrange based low order finite element approximations using displacement formulations. However, the finite element models of Timoshenko beams and Mindlin plates with linear interpolation of all generalized disp...
متن کاملThree-dimensional Modeling of Intense Bunched Beams in Rf Accelerators and Sources*
Abstract A three-dimensional model of intense bunched beams is developed for cylindrical and corrugated conducting pipes. Updated comparisons between the current limits derived from this model and experimental data from PPM focusing klystrons are presented. An electrostatic Green’s function is formulated for azimuthally symmetric slowwave structures. Analytical and numerical results are present...
متن کاملNonlinear Finite Element Analysis of Bending of Straight Beams Using hp-Spectral Approximations
Displacement finite element models of various beam theories have been developed using traditional finite element interpolations (i.e., Hermite cubic or equi-spaced Lagrange functions). Various finite element models of beams differ from each other in the choice of the interpolation functions used for the transverse deflection w, total rotation φ and/or shear strain γxz, or in the integral form u...
